Noise Level Monitoring is a method of measuring the noise levels of a sound source over a period of time. Depending on the type of project, the monitoring length could vary from a single hour to several days, or even over several months. Sound measurement data is either continuously collected or gathered in a series of periodic increments per the requirements of the job.
Projects that require sound level monitoring may include the observation of noise levels from aircraft, construction sites, road traffic, residential and commercial building developments, industrial and manufacturing facilities, machinery, sound emanating from performance venues, or any range of noisy environments.
The results of a noise monitoring study may be used to as part of a property development proposal, for litigation proceedings, to determine OSHA compliance, determine workplace noise levels, or any other situation where noise levels are of concern.
