Acoustical Solutions Rep Kevin McIver recently worked with a private independent school that serves children with dyslexia and other language-based learning differences. Kevin worked closely with the school’s contractors to design a custom acoustic foam ceiling created from Acoustical Solutions’ standard products.

The room is a Physical Education Classroom that is always filled with a lot of movement and noise. All the parallel, bare surfaces however, created a high reverberation time and echo. This amplified the noise and made it hard for the children to understand what their instructors were saying.

The Results

“I loved the idea they had for ceiling circles instead of out of the box panels,” says McIver, “they’re made from our AlphaSorb® Flat Acoustic Foam which the customer painted himself”

The customer wrote that the panels worked well and produced a noticeable change about the room’s acoustics.
