An AcoustiTherm Insulated Acoustic Ceiling Tile provides superior sound absorption and excellent thermal insulation. Due to its high R value, there is no need to add insulation to joists or roll out fiberglass batting above the grid, reducing labor and material cost. To gain access above the grid, simply remove the tile without having to move any other materials.

These ceiling tiles are constructed using 3" thick acoustic fiberglass and are laminated with a thin white vinyl facing, giving them a durable, easily-cleaned, non-porous surface. These ceiling tiles are moisture and humidity resistant, and ensure that your ceiling tiles will not sag, shrink, or warp. Combining two products into one, the AcoustiTherm Insulated Acoustic Ceiling Tiles provide easier accessibility and faster installation for your ceiling system.

With a NRC rating of 1.05 and an R value of 13.6, AcoustiTherm ceiling tiles provide optimal acoustic performance and energy savings for a complete solution on your next construction project.

Benefits of AcoustiTherm Ceiling Tiles

AcoustiTherm Insulated Acoustic Ceiling Tiles are engineered to deliver outstanding performance in both sound control and thermal insulation. These dual-function ceiling panels are ideal for improving comfort and acoustics in any interior space. With an impressive Noise Reduction Coefficient (NRC) of 1.05 and an R-value of 13.6, they help reduce ambient noise while minimizing heat loss or gain—making them one of the best acoustic and energy-efficient ceiling tile options on the market. Designing for productivity, privacy, or sustainability? AcoustiTherm ceiling tiles deliver a complete solution that checks every box.

Typical Installation Environments

AcoustiTherm ceiling tiles are a popular choice for a wide variety of commercial and institutional settings. They’re commonly installed in:

  • Corporate offices to reduce distractions and enhance employee focus
  • Classrooms and lecture halls to improve speech intelligibility
  • Medical facilities to ensure privacy and reduce reverberation
  • Recording studios and home theaters to control room acoustics
  • Retail spaces and restaurants for better sound control and temperature balance

These acoustic drop ceiling panels fit easily into standard T-bar grid systems, making them ideal for both new construction and retrofit applications.

Comparison with Standard Ceiling Tiles

Unlike standard ceiling tiles that offer basic aesthetics with minimal performance, AcoustiTherm panels go further. Traditional mineral fiber or basic fiberglass tiles often lack sufficient sound-absorbing or insulating properties. AcoustiTherm tiles combine a durable white or black matte acoustic facing with a fiberglass insulation backer, creating a high-performance ceiling solution that outperforms standard options in both noise reduction and thermal efficiency. For projects that demand more than just a visual upgrade, AcoustiTherm delivers measurable results.

Energy Efficiency & Sustainability

Energy savings start from the top down—literally. AcoustiTherm ceiling tiles offer an R-9 thermal rating, helping to stabilize interior temperatures by reducing heat transfer through the ceiling plane. In doing so, these energy-efficient ceiling tiles help lower HVAC loads, reduce utility costs, and support compliance with green building initiatives. Their fiberglass core contributes to improved indoor environmental quality and may help qualify for credits under LEED® and other sustainability programs. Quiet, comfortable, and energy-conscious—that’s the AcoustiTherm advantage.

Customization Options

Every space has its own look, feel, and function—and AcoustiTherm tiles are designed with that flexibility in mind. Available in both white and black matte finishes, these panels integrate seamlessly with modern, industrial, or minimalist interiors. For unique design needs, custom panel sizes and finishes can be quoted upon request. Outfitting a media production space or a sleek modern office? AcoustiTherm tiles deliver the performance you need with the visual appeal you want. Enhance your ceilings without compromising design integrity.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are AcoustiTherm™ Ceiling Tiles made of?

AcoustiTherm™ tiles feature a dual-layer design that combines a 1" thick melamine foam for sound absorption and a 1" thick backer of aluminized mylar-faced fiberglass for thermal insulation. This unique construction helps control noise while adding an R-Value of 13.6.

Are AcoustiTherm™ tiles compatible with standard ceiling grids?

Yes, AcoustiTherm™ tiles are designed to easily fit into most standard 24" x 24" and 24" x 48" ceiling grid systems, making them a simple upgrade for both commercial and residential spaces.

How do AcoustiTherm™ tiles compare to traditional ceiling tiles?

Unlike traditional tiles that focus only on appearance or sound absorption, AcoustiTherm™ tiles provide both noise reduction (NRC of 1.05) and thermal insulation (R-Value of 13.6), making them ideal for energy-efficient, acoustically sensitive spaces.

Can I use these acoustic ceiling tiles in high-humidity areas?

While AcoustiTherm™ tiles are moisture-resistant and easy to clean, they are best used in temperature-controlled indoor environments. For high-humidity or wet areas, we recommend contacting us to explore additional acoustic solutions.
