Job Overview

The Sr Cost accountant is responsible for directing the general accounting, cost accounting, tax compliance, financial reporting, analysis, and inventory control in a standard cost manufacturing environment. Leads annual budgeting and forecasting processes. Other responsibilities include implementing and maintain a system of internal controls ensuring company assets are adequately safeguarded and that financial reporting is prepared in compliance with all financial policies and US GAAP. Evaluate proposed projects and initiatives for proper financial analysis and assist in strategic evaluation of same.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Oversees standard costing methods, cost rolls and related polices, overhead calculations, overhead rate setting, variance reporting, variance analysis, and monthly reporting as required by Finance Director or President.
  • Evaluate key accounting processes and procedures, identify gaps, design, and implement improvements in systems, processes, internal controls, and efficiencies as needed. Ensure all accounting processes are documented and maintained to follow company SOP and Document Control standards.
  • Maintain accuracy of inventory and inventory valuations in ERP system. Oversee physical inventories.
  • Conduct monthly close in a timely manner for the business group.
  • Work directly with the President and Director of Accounting to provide and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities in a timely manner. Present financial data, and analyze data to highlight performance-to-budget variances, improvement opportunities, etc. Coordinate with external auditors and other applicable parties ensuring appropriate information and explanations are provided in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing. Coordinate with Human Resources on the administration of inputs and approvals, payroll deductions for employee benefits including enrollments, invoice reconciliations, terminations, disability, worker’s compensation, COBRA, 401K and any other deductions that may impact employee’s payroll deductions.
  • Support company KPIs development and reporting.
  • Analyze customer financial condition and authorize customer credit lines while minimizing bad debt risks. Utilize D&B reports to make credit recommendations.
  • Provide financial packages as directed.
  • Lead Continuous Improvement of key accounting processes including but not limited to ERP systems, month to month accounting operations, AP, Payroll, and Inventory.
  • Monitor and maintain all financial terms in agreements and contracts.
  • Fully participate in leading the company’s continuous improvement processes and adhere to all company procedures and policies.

Job Overview

Assists in the completion of installation of the job from start to finish to include pre-job preparation, loading/unloading of materials, transportation, setup, installation and clean up. Must always present yourself as a professional representative of the company.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Arrives to work on time and follows weekly work schedule.
  • Completes installation of acoustical panels, baffles, blankets, stretch walls, etc.
  • Assists with kitting of materials prior to installation including moving materials from main warehouse to installation warehouse.
  • Follows work instructions to ensure consistent installation of products.
  • Ensures job sites are always left clean “Make it as if we were never there.”
  • Operates company vehicles safely.
  • Reports any safety or quality issues that arise out of the installation process to the Supervisor immediately.
  • Uses appropriate hand tools, power tools, forklifts and aerial lifts safely to get required work done.
  • Maintains appropriate certifications as pertains to job. (OSHA, Fork Truck Cert, Aerial Lift, First Aid, etc.)
  • Follows 5S processes and Acoustical Solutions Core Values, Kaizen and process improvement activities.
  • Adheres to Acoustical Solutions Employee Handbook and Health and Safety Manual.
  • Follows dress code and dons appropriate PPE for job.
  • Has reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Attends all mandatory company meetings and functions.

Professional Competencies

  • OSHA 10 Certification required.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of carpentry or construction experience.
  • Familiar with construction blueprints and install drawings preferred.
  • Speaks and understands the English language verbally and in written form.
  • Ability to get along with co-workers and work as a team.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and be open to accepting new ideas and change.

Physical Requirements:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

  • Extended periods of sitting, standing, walking and working overhead.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. repetitively and individually, up to 100 lbs. with a team lift.
  • Will be exposed to non-climate-controlled conditions such as excessive heat, cold, dampness, construction noise, dust and the presence of odorous chemicals.
  • Must be able to work at heights of up to 40 ft.
  • Overnight stays out of town may be required.
  • Travel within 200 miles of the office.
  • Overtime may be required.

Safety Requirements

  • Follows Acoustical Solutions Health & Safety Manual at all times.
  • Follows all traffic laws and regulations as pertains to company vehicles.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as pertaining to job site requirements: eye/face protection, toe protection, hard hats, safety harnesses, reflective clothing, etc.
  • Ensures all tool guards are always in place and never bypasses or rigs equipment for use.
  • Ensures crews are also following all safety protocols.
  • Attends all company safety meetings.

Rate of Pay: Starting pay (1st 90 days of employment) $20.00 with OSHA10 certification. After successful completion of probationary period: $21.50 with OSHA10 certification. Without OSHA10 $19.50.

Work Location: 3017 Vernon Rd. Henrico VA 23228. must be willing to travel off site.

Responsibilities

  • Daily Operations & Execution
    • Direct and oversee day to day warehouse activities including receiving, put away, picking, packing, shipping, inventory movements, and inter site transfers.

    • Maintain clean, organized, and controlled warehouse conditions at all times.

    • Enforce compliance with all documented warehouse procedures, work instructions, and safety requirements.
    • Identify gaps where procedures do not exist and lead the development of clear, practical standard operating procedures (SOPs).

    • Lead and participate in cycle counting activities, inventory reconciliation, and discrepancy resolution.
    • Maintain high standards of inventory discipline to support reliability and operational trust.
    • Oversee raw material transport & logistics.

    • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety standards and company policies.
