The Issue

Acoustic Panels were used to successfully control the extreme noise level and echo in a Panera Bread Restaurant location. Furniture Design Studios worked with Acoustical Solutions to find the best option to fit the restaurant’s sound-control needs, while also maintaining the design and décor of the space.

About the Client

Furniture Design Studios has been manufacturing and supplying custom furniture, including case goods, seating, and kitchen furniture to the hospitality industry for over 25 years. They are a woman-owned business headquartered in New York. They use acoustic panels in many of their projects to control the noise level of their client’s spaces. These sound panels can be used to add a unique look to a room or blend in perfectly with the existing design.

The Challenge

Furniture Design Studios contacted Acoustical Solutions to discuss a serious echo problem that their client, Panera Bread was having at one of their locations. When Panera Bread had a large number of customers in the restaurant, the noise levels made it difficult to communicate effectively. Due to the hard surfaces in the restaurant, the noise was almost unbearable for the patrons and staff. Acoustic panels were the answer.

The Solution

To address the sound issues, Acoustical Solutions recommended installing 1″ thick AlphaSorb® Fabric Wrapped Acoustic Panels in the ceiling, because the client did not want to change the décor of their wall space. They needed a product that would help reduce the echo and reverberation. The acoustic panels absorbed the sound and noise directly over the areas where the patrons are seated. The Result

The restaurant now has great acoustics thanks to the acoustic panels. The panels improved the reverberation and helped to reduce the overall noise level in the space.
