The Issue
Acoustical Solutions helps deliver a sound-blocking blanket enclosure to reduce noise in a New Jersey industrial plant for AECOM.
The Challenge
AECOM’s new industrial operation in New Jersey included machinery that was a little too loud for employee safety and comfort. Acoustical Solutions, with client Adam P., helped design and deliver an acoustical blanket enclosure using PrivacyShield® Dual-Sided Absorptive Soundproofing Blankets within a short time frame.

The Solution
We discussed a complete custom track system enclosure with a double-track rolling system for access to the area. However, we quoted the barrier blanket panels alone as a faster alternative. Lead time was of utmost importance. They decided on getting standard panels, doing custom cuts on site and providing their own hanging system. Eric H., the AECOM site supervisor in New Jersey, was about a week away from completing his punch list. Hanging the blankets was his final task for this project. He had been at the site a year and a half and was anxious to complete the final sound abatement project. After placing the order, Eric checked back in to see if it was possible to get the PrivacyShield® Dual-Sided Absorptive Soundproofing Blankets the next day. “How is it shipping? There is a meeting scheduled for Wednesday and they are the ones that complained about the noise, so it would be nice to have it up by then but definitely by Thursday, which is my last day here. Thanks for working with us to expedite this order.”— Eric H. Once the expedited order was placed, they requested all the blankets to be 4′ wide and we were able to accommodate this change at the last minute. As the blankets were getting ready to ship, we investigated express shipping options to get the order delivered sooner.
The Result
Acoustical Solutions pulled out all the stops to ensure their client had their acoustical solution when they needed it. The blankets arrived on time and were installed before deadline. Adam was ecstatic with the customer service from his Acoustical Solutions Representative.
