Vibration Control

Our Vibration Control product offerings comprise various Mason Industry isolation materials that reduce mechanical equipment vibration and foot fall noise between floors. These offerings include isolation springs, mounts, and neoprene and rubber isolation pads. Rolls of recycled rubber floor underlayments are also used to reduce footfall noise.

Isolation Pads

Our Isolation pads are used to reduce vibration from equipment, thus reducing structure and airborne noise. A full sheet can be cut into pieces and placed under each corner of the equipment or under the equipment pad. The pads come in different thickness and grades depending on the weight of equipment.

Metal Damping

Noise damping of metal is accomplished using pressure sensitive adhesive backed damping sheets or paint damping using a brush or sprayer, adhered to the surface of your metal. The thickness of your damping compound should be the same thickness as your metal, and have about 80% coverage of the metal's surface. Damping takes the ring out of metal like the ring out of a drum set cymbal.

Mason Industries neoprene isolation mounts and hangers are used to isolate equipment operating at speeds above 1200 RPM. Isolation springs and hangers for equipment are used to isolate equipment noise above 500 RPM. Both are used to isolate equipment mounted of hung from rigid building structures.

The selection of the right mount requires the weight and weight distribution of the equipment, the number of mounting points for the equipment. and the RPM of the equipment. Call us to help you select the right mount for your application.

Wall and Ceiling Isolation

Wall and ceiling Isolation from noise is what people refer to as soundproofing. It is accomplished by having enough mass (weight) in your wall and ceiling to block the amount of sound you need to block. The more noise you need to block, the more mass you need in the ceiling or wall. The more bass content in the sound you are trying to block, the more mass you need. There are hundreds of wall and ceiling assemblies that are used in construction.

Our job is to help you decide what material or added materials to your existing wall or ceiling assembly will best achieve your goal. We have mass loaded vinyl, isolation clips, ceiling isolation hangers, different floor underlayments and sealants to use in new and existing construction in order to help you achieve your soundproofing goals.
