Job Overview
The Operations Manager is responsible for all on-site activities, including manufacturing, engineering, warehousing, order fulfillment, shipping, and production materials management. The role also oversees the daily duties of support positions covering customer service, project management, and administration. The Operations Manager ensures quality, on-time delivery, and cost control in all areas of responsibility. This position leads the tracking and improvement of operational KPIs, the execution of strategic deployment plans, and the continuous improvement of the Daily Management Process. Supports the development and implementation of strategies, policies and procedures, and enforces same in assigned areas. Embraces Continuous Improvement Philosophies and Processes; and continually develops CI skills of self and all subordinates.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for achieving budget, goals and objectives, KPI’s, and overall financial results.
- Leads Daily Management every day, driving problems to root cause and countermeasures, delegating CI to team, and building a culture of rapidly exposing and eliminating waste across the business.
- “Owns” company level KPI’s as assigned, develops action plans to improve in order to achieve targets, tracks data, and reports monthly at review. Develops countermeasures as required by KPI process.
- Holds formal kaizen events to continually drive improvement.
- Supports the Strategy Deployment process as required, including serving as “action plan owner” plus “task owner” as assigned by plans. Participates in the monthly SD review process.
- Ensures that customer service, design, engineering, and administrative personnel are aligned and focused on company objectives and value adding activities.
- Assists the senior management team in the development of, and adherence to plans, policies, programs, and objectives. This includes HR policies, Safety / OSHA / Environmental procedures, Business policies, finance policies, and other rules and regulations.
- Responsible for managing / achieving budgets for all areas of responsibility.
- Keeps company commitments related to quality, delivery, and cost. Drives company initiatives related to growth and profitability.
- “Lives” the company values, leads others to do so, and addresses / reports to supervisor any situations where company values may be jeopardized.
- Trains, develops, and evaluates staff. Ensures development of staff to meet business needs. Takes corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy.
- Responsible for management of materials and supplies related to areas of responsibility. Maximizes inventory turns while meeting customer and company requirements.

Requirements
The position requires a minimum of ten years of progressive operations experience, with three or more years with direct managerial and budgetary accountability. A BS degree in Engineering or related field is required. Qualified candidates should be goal-oriented, organized and have well developed financial analysis, negotiation and leadership skills. A thorough understanding of legal contracting is essential.

Job Overview
TThe Supply Chain Manager is responsible for managing processes related to the company’s supplier / vendor partners. Areas of responsibility include strategic contract management, global importing, overall supplier management and negotiations, warehousing, and logistics. The Supply Chain Manager is a key leadership role driving company growth by broadening product offerings, reducing costs / maximizing value across the supply chain, and developing strategic supplier relationships.
Responsibilities
- Establishes contracts with suppliers, vendors, and shipping partners, including pricing, terms, indemnification, and clear product liability protection for the company. Works closely with our management team when selecting vendors, defining terms, negotiating or accepting price changes, etc.
- Manages importing, including LCC vendor qualification, quality control, freight, duty, and all other elements of offshore sourcing. Travels to vendors to ensure production processing, quality control, and overall product suitability.
- Negotiates supplier contracts in coordination with Senior Management and manages accounts to executed contracts
- Establishes supplier KPIs and scorecards and drives continuous improvement of same. Metrics include quality, on time delivery, lead time, quality, inventory turns, and cost. Communicates this information monthly (or more frequent basis) to internal management team as part of Daily Management process.
- Develops, follows, and improves formal, documented processes to evaluate, to select, and to qualify / disqualify suppliers.
- Responsible for purchasing process, including terms and conditions, contract management, PO management, any requisition processes, and control of variances.
- Maintains close contact with key suppliers to drive performance improvement, provide performance feedback, and to discuss production forecasts and understand future market and supplier issues. Analyzes information about supplier performance and drive root cause resolution / improvement.
- Appraises vendor abilities through on-site visits as required.
- Responsible for all warehousing, shipping, and logistics activities. Drives continuous improvement and cost reductions in warehousing and across the Freight / Logistics process. Ensures that shipping and logistics decisions align with inventory management and cost goals.
- Develops SOPs and process documents for all areas of responsibility of maintains according to company document control processes.
- Responsible for maintaining complete and accurate product cost and inventory information in the ERP system.
- Measures, manages and improves purchase price variance (PPV)
- Works with the management team to identify and select new products. Presents new product proposals to the management team regarding options, terms, and pros/cons.
- Reviews and updates update supply chain policies and procedures in accordance with new or changing environmental policies, standards, regulations, or laws; including Prop65 and related regulations that involve locale specific requirements.
- Maximizes inventory turns and working capital turns by developing suppliers to shorter delivery cycles, improved reliability, and smaller lot size ordering while avoiding stockouts and setting appropriate safety stocks.
- Address quality issues and other related supplier issues through “Supplier Corrective Action” process. Follows up on same, and keeps running database of issues, resolutions, communications, etc. Informed of all customer complaints, member of customer complaint review team.
- Develop procedures for coordination of supply chain management with other functional areas, such as sales, marketing, finance, production, or quality assurance.
- Design or implement supply chain that supports business strategies. Adapts to changing market conditions, new business opportunities, and cost reduction strategies.
- Supports company objectives, exhibits strong commitment to the continuous improvement process, and “lives” the company values.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements

- Minimum of ten years of progressive purchasing, supply chain, and logistics experience.
- Extensive Importing / LLC sourcing / international supply chain management experience required.
- A solid understanding of lean / continuous improvement principles, and a track record of developing and implementing lean business processes with international supply base is also required.
- Qualified candidates should be goal-oriented, organized and have well developed financial analysis, negotiation and leadership skills.
- A thorough understanding of legal contracting.
- Willingness and ability to travel (domestic and international), expected to be 5% to 25%, with extended stay trips abroad expected.
- Valid driver’s license and US passport.
- Supply Chain Professional accreditations preferred.
