The Life Hotel Restaurant chose a custom site installed solution to control sound for their new hip dining spot in New York City. Breakfast, lunch and dinner, in addition to a full bar in the lobby and a basement bar serving classic cocktails is offered here. They also have private dining and a meeting space for up to 60 people. They contacted Acoustical Solutions to help with the noise level in the both the bar and dining area. The patrons were complaining about how difficult it was to communicate and enjoy there dining experience.
The Life Hotel Restaurant is in the heart of NoMad Neighborhood in New York, a hub of hip lifestyle hotels, trendy concept stores, and buzzing restaurants. Due to the hard surfaces, the sound was almost unbearable for the patrons and staff. When the restaurant is at full capacity, the sound bounced around the room! It was difficult for the patrons and staff to communicate. Because they are a boutique hotel that pays tribute to its history, maintaining the original restored architectural details like wood molding and marble floors was important. They did not want treatment for the walls, only the ceiling.
To address the sound issues, the Acoustical Solutions Installation Team fit our AcoustiWall Fabric Stretch System in the Bar Area and the Dining Area. Our Fabric Stretch Systems are high- end acoustical panel system. Our Fabric Stretch Systems for Walls and Ceilings is customized on-site by our installation teams to create a seamless panel system. With this system we created a seamless panel system improving the speech intelligibility and reducing the reverberation and echo in the space.
The Life Hotel, in addition to great food and drinks, now has great acoustics! The Fabric Stretch System has lessened the reverberation and helped to reduce the overall noise level in the space. It also improved speech clarity, allowing the patrons and staff to communicate easily. The system gave the space a crisp, clean look that met the acoustic goals for this project.
