Cedia Honored Home Theater

The Issue

From a dated, cinema games room to a Cedia Honored Home Theater. Acoustical Solutions helped to completely redesign and upgrade A UK home using SoundSuede™ Acoustic Fabric. The client was thrilled with the results – and so were CEDIA judges.

The Challenge

A home in Southport, England included a unique cinema and games room. But after the current residents lived there for ten years, the layout, design, and technology were pretty out of date. They contacted Matt Wayne, a Design Consultant at the UK’s Finite Solutions home technology specialists. Wayne came up with an extensive redesign and technological upgrade, including acoustical products from Acoustical Solutions.

The Solution

The acoustical treatment and “key feature” of the room, according to Finite Solutions, was the SoundSuede™ material from Acoustical Solutions. Black SoundSuede™ fabric was installed along the walls, covering the nine new speakers and subwoofers creating a hidden surround sound system. Finite Solutions then installed AlphsSorb^® Fabric Wrapped Acoustic Panels in SoundSuede™ Fabric intermittently along the walls in the color Boysenberry to absorb sound and increase the intelligibility of film audio.

The Result

Finite Solutions said the cinema “provides the comfort, warmth and perfect acoustic environment to get the best performance from the equipment.“

The cinema was later chosen as a finalist for the CEDIA award for best Home Cinema between £100-250k.

From the Client: Upon completion of the room the client had purchased a healthy selection of new films to enjoy in the cinema. After a few simple demonstrations, the client was absolutely blown away by the sound and picture quality.
