Green Glue Noiseproofing Compound is an ideal product for new construction and renovation projects. Use Green Glue Noiseproofing compound to isolate sound and vibration between two layers of construction materials, most often between drywall.  It is the most popular and cost-effective soundproofing material on the market. The compound’s unique properties act as a damping material to dissipate the vibrations caused by sound waves as they travel through ceilings, walls and floors.

Green Glue Noiseproofing Compound is non-hazardous, environmentally-responsible, and has practically no odor. It also adds value to your home or commercial space. It takes just a few minutes to apply Green Glue Noiseproofing Compound to an average piece of drywall (or other rigid construction material). It’s easy to soundproof a room in one day or less. For best results, cure time is seven days, and the Compound reaches its peak performance 30 days after application.

Whether you’re an experienced construction professional or a handy DIY kind of person, using Green Glue Noiseproofing Compound is a cinch. All you need is a standard quart-sized calking gun to apply a layer of compound between two pieces of drywall or other construction material. It also cleans up easily with just soap and water. Independent lab tests prove that using Green Glue Noiseproofing Compound dissipates up to 90 percent of noise. Unlike other soundproofing products, Green Glue Noiseproofing Compound is ideal for dissipating low frequency noise common with home entertainment and theater systems. Green Glue is non-toxic with no mixing required. For floors and walls, this product drastically reduces impact and airborne noise. It can be used in loudspeaker cabinets, home theaters, and recording studios.

Please note that Green Glue Noiseproofing compound is a damping compound and not to be used as a substitute for glue or mechanical fasteners. Green Glue should be utilized in conjunction with sound barriers, vibration isolators and other construction materials to effectively construct soundproof assemblies.

Learning as I go. This stuff is messy if you're not careful. Hopefully it does what it's supposed to. I'm definitely not a pro. Just building my own personal drum and recording studio.

I own an 8 unit Apartment building and I installed on one wall only quiet rock sheetrock with only some noise reduction. However, when I applied the Green Glue on the quiet rock in a different apartment the noise reduction was amazing. Yes, Green Glue really makes a difference in noise reduction.

I use the product between the 3/4" plywood base board and a 1/2" homasote board that the model railroad layout is applied upon. The Green Glue pretty much stops the sound of the train wheels on the track sounding like metal echoes in a cave. The only wheel sounds I hear are from the top of the layout, and are not loud at all. Makes running the trains much more enjoyable. I sealed the seams with regular chaulk, and the Green Glue brand might work even better, but I didn't buy it at the time, and don't intend to take out the track and reapply to find out how much of a difference. I didn't get it to begin with because I expected some noise from the top, and didn't think the amount of sound deadening along the seams would be all that noticeable. If a modeller wants that little extra assurance, then use the Green Glue seam sealer.
