New rooftop equipment at the BMW North America headquarters was generating unexpected noise and they needed a solution. This came up during the process of expanding to accommodate their Research and Engineering Center. Luckily, they found the solution with IAC Acoustics outdoor sound barrier walls, represented by Acoustical Solutions.
BMW wanted to expand their North American Headquarters located in rural Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey. Part of that expansion was to create space for new resources. This included the Research and Engineering Center, as well as the Technical Services Group. They also wanted to maintain the Pristine surroundings of the facility, including many lovely homesteads adjacent the property. The architect of the project, HOK, soon discovered IAC Acoustics Noise shield barrier. They realized that this would be a high-performance solution to their noise control problem. IAC worked with HOK to design a noise control solution that fit in perfectly with the aesthetics of the architecture. At the same time, it will provide top notch noise control.
IAC designed and installed three rooftop sound barrier wall systems at the facility. The materials matched up with the design elements of the building itself and accommodated all building codes. They were even able to meet wind loads specified in the International Building Code.
IAC Acoustics Noishield® Sound Barrier Walls customized to fit around the rooftop equipment.
BMW is now conducting full operations in a state-of-the-art research facility. All of the attendant noise producing machinery has been effectively attenuated by the IAC Acoustics Noishield® sound barriers to community standards.
