Wastewater Treatment

Facilities that move freshwater and process wastewater typically create noise from pumps and blowers. Due to the necessity of their close proximity to residential living spaces, on some occasions, this noise can be a problem. Community noise standards typically require a maximum night time nose level of 55 dB(A) nighttime and 65 dB(A) nighttime at the property line of the noise production location.

These reduced noise levels can be achieved using sound blocking materials and sound absorption materials; such as durable acoustical blankets lining the facility walls and pump enclosures, and air flow silencers reducing noise from fans and pumps.
