Event Venues & Recreation
Event venues are facilities that have large volume and excessive sound reverberation. The result is poor speech intelligibility and poor music clarity. A facility like this should have a reverberation time of about 1.25 to 1.5 seconds depending on room volume. You can reduce the reverb time in the room by adding absorption materials on the wall, or up in the ceiling. Typically, you would add fabric wrapped acoustic panels on the walls and hanging baffles or acoustic ceiling tiles mounted to the ceiling.
The acoustic designer will help you determine your existing reverb time and how much additional absorption you need to add and where material is placed based on your existing design, acoustic requirement and budget. Pictures, room measurements, drawings and room surface types will help to determine your needs for soundproofing.
